His Excellency President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has this evening returned from Nairobi, Kenya where he had gone for a one-day working visit at the invitation of his Kenyan Counterpart, His Excellency President Uhuru Kenyatta.
President Museveni was in Nairobi to participate in the signing ceremony of the accession treaty by the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) to the East African Community at a function that took place today (Friday March the 8th) at State House, Nairobi.
On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, President Museveni was received by the Head of Public Service and Secretary to Cabinet Mrs. Lucy Nakyobe Mbonye.
Others at the Airport to receive the President were service chiefs, Maj. Gen. Charles Okidi, the Deputy Commander Air force in the Uganda People’s Defense Forces; AIGP Andrew Solowen, Director Welfare, Production and Sports in Uganda Police Force and John Bosco Tumwebaze, the Director Administration in Uganda Prisons Services.
The East African Community is an Inter-governmental Organization composed of now seven countries in the African Great Lakes Region of East Africa.
The seven countries include; The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), The United Republic of Tanzania, The Republic of Kenya, Burundi, Rwanda and The Republic of Uganda.
