In the fight to have food security, Bukoto central member of Parliament Hon. Eng. Richard Sebamala has given out maize seeds to farmers to plant this season.

Seeds have been given to 40 villages in the parishes of Kamuzinda, Kyantale, Buyinja and Zzimwe where each village received at least 50kgs.

Eng. Sebamala said the 2000kgs donated to the 40 villages will boost the constituency food basket where farmers will be able to get enough food and support their communities.,

“We expect our food basket to be heavy enough to support our community in the nearest possible future. We thank you for your overwhelming support,” Eng. Sebamala said.

Farmers who received the maize seeds across the 40 villages commended Hon. Sebamala for his tireless efforts of donating seeds every planting season.

In just a period of one year as the area member of Parliament for Bukoto Central constituency in Masaka district, Hon. Sebamala has succeeded in supporting his constituents with various programs to boost agriculture and their economic statuses from harvests.

One of the programs was to provide maize and been seeds to farmers in the last planting season where a good number of farmers also benefited from the program

Recently, Hon. Sebamala also facilitated animal farmers in the constituency with a number of piglets which were given to groups, of which the program will extend to other farmers after getting more bleeds.

In a period of 5 years the piggery project will extend to all animal farmers across the 9 parishes of Bukoto Central.

A number of coffee seedlings have also been given out to coffee farmers to boost coffee production and economic growth from the cash crop.

This Program comes two weeks after launching Sebamala Cup 2022 which is also an opportunity for constituents to get to know their constituency by travelling from one corner of it to the other but most importantly improve and sell talent for better sports and standards of living. The Tournament is strictly for Bukoto central residents in the nine parishes of Kyanamukaaka and Kyesiiga sub counties.
