Museveni names Jessica Alupo Vice President, Robinah Nabbanja Prime Minister as women eat big in new cabinet

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has  released a new list of his ministerial appointments, ending weeks of speculations that had engulfed the public.

The President dissolved the old cabinet on May 3, 2021 making it the longest period he has run the country without Ministers in the 1995 constitutional era.

In the cabinet list  released on Tuesday night, Rtd Maj Jesica Alupo has been named the new Vice President replacing Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi. Robinah Nabbanja has replaced Dr Ruhakana Rugunda as Prime Minister while former Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga makes it back as First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister in charge of East African Community.

Mayuge District Woman MP Lukia Isanga Nakadama is the new third Deputy Premier.

Others on the list are First Lady Janet Kataha Museveni who retains the Education docket, Milly Doka Babalanda who replaces Esther Mbayo as Minister for the Presidency.

NRM Secretary General Justine Lumumba moves to the General Duties docket while Minsi Kabanda is the new Minister for Kampala, replacing Betty Amongi.
