About 1,107 students are expected to graduate when Uganda Christian University, (UCU) Mukono, holds its fifth graduation ceremony of the year on Friday, October 26.
The institution usually holds seven graduation ceremonies annually at its main campus and constituent colleges. These include three ceremonies at the UCU main campus in Mukono, two at Bishop Barham University College – Kabale and two at UCU Mbale University College.
The event will be presided over by the UCU Vice Chancellor, the Most Rev. Stanley Ntagali. The guest of honour is former Vice Chancellor UCU Prof Stephan Noll.
Of the students to graduate from 55 academic programmes, 605 (55 percent) of them are female while the rest are male. Thirty seven students (12 male and 25 female) will be graduating with a first class degree.
The largest single number of 282 students is in the Business Administration undergraduate programme.
Also, this is the first time the institution will have students (19) graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Statistics.
The graduates will leave with their transcripts.
