On Friday, the Nakawa Chief Magistrate Noah Sajjabi ordered police bosses including the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Gen Kale Kayihura to produce The Investigator Journalists Stanley Ndawula  and Robert Ndawula in court if they have charges or be released immediately unconditionally.

However, police bosses have defied the court order thus detaining the two journalists further.

Once the lawyers served the concerned parties: IGP, Police Legal Department, Director CIID, OC CID Kira Road and Jinja Road. The OC CID refused to obey the court orders requesting for a written order from the IGPs office.

As the clock tickled to 5pm the lawyers rushed to Police Headquarters and secured the orders signed by William Okalanyi Director Legal services unfortunately the OC CID still refused to release the detained journalists.

The duo was arrested on Tuesday night after being interrogated at Police’s Criminal Investigations and Intelligence Department (CIID) over computer misuse related cases.
