Parliamentary Committee on Commissions, Statutory Authorities and State Enterprises (COSASE) chaired by Bugweri County MP Abdu Katuntu is today expected to interface with President Yoweri Museveni  over shs6 billion handshake.

COSASE is in its final stages of probing shs6 billion which was given out to 42 government officials for their role in the oil case involving Heritage Oil Company.

The oil cash bonanza sparked a public outrage whereby many people including government officials condemned the act saying it was misuse of taxpayer’s money.

Due to the outrage, parliamentarians were forced to probe into the matter.

Early this year, President Museveni revealed to the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Caucus that the oil cash bonanza that was given to the officials after winning the oil case against Heritage Oil, an independent Jersey-based oil and gas exploration and production company, was deliberate adding that he is proud of the Uganda group who fully deserved their reward.
