Bank of Uganda has set up training for a group of young oriented business practitioners to train them on how best they can spend money and develop.

The Financial Literacy Training of Trainer’s Course as organized by BOU is hosted at silver spring hotel Bugolobi began yesterday and shall run for a full week.

According to Mrs. Tilda Nabbanja, the course coordinator, training of trainers is on a quarterly basis, a five day training course targeting representatives from the public, government, and private organizations working with wider communities on the topic of financial literacy.

Each organization nominated two individuals per course. The criteria to select the right candidates included their ability to train, commitment, interest and dedication to conduct financial literacy trainings after the course and among this Watchdog Uganda was clearly represented.

After completion of the course, all successful participants shall receive a Certificate of Participation from Bank of Uganda., after which all participants shall have the option to become Certified Trainers after having trained at least 100 people in a period of one year after attending the Trainers of Trainers course.

The course covers various topics as outlined in the National Strategy for Financial Literacy namely: Personal Financial Management, Savings, Loans, Investment, Financial Service Providers, Retirement, Payment Systems and Insurance.
