There is a man called Rogers Mulindwa. He is the communications personnel for the secretariat of the National Residence Movement which sits all day long on Plot 10 Kyadondo Road in Nakasero, Kampala.
Mulindwa loves communications, and in his years of writing press releases, he has never written one of this kind. We have also not seen an officer of another organization writing a press release of this nature either.
Because he explains everything in his press release, here below we share a statement from Mr Mulindwa about a case against him which was dismissed in Masaka.
From Watchdog, however, we sympathize with our colleague Eddie Bindhe who didn’t get justice from the courts as he expected. As for Mr Mulindwa, we pray he never ever assault any journalist for whatever reason as he was once one of us.
Well, below is the vain statement.
COURTS ACQUITS ME OF ASSAULT CHARGES.

The Chief Magistrates Court in Masaka presided over by the Grade One Magistrate Byarugaba Adams has this Tuesday delivered its judgement by ACQUITTING me of the offences of malicious damage to property and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
I was dragged to court by Eddie Bindhe a local journalist attached to Uganda Radio Network (URN). He alleged that on May 12, 2015 at Garden Courts Hotel where we had an NRM leaders’ meeting presided over by the Rt. Hon Secretary General Justine Kasule Lumumba, I strangled him, damaged his glasses and caused bodily harm.
In his judgement, Byarugaba Adams said there was no evidence of alleged assault and that the Medical Officer brought as a witness Dr Ssenyonjo Mbazira Francis could not even recall the body part injured or even the nature of the injury. Court observed that the medical form was casually filled.
Court has found a lot of inconsistences in the evidence against me. Bindhe alleged I strangled him but none of his 6 witnesses echoed the same. None of his witness showed up today for the ruling.
The complainant failed to provide court with exhibits of broken glasses. There was also a contradiction as pictures of the same were taken on August 16th 2016 but tendered to police in February 2016. Unbelievable!
Court further wondered how an incident of such a nature involving high profile politicians would not be covered by any of the 12 local journalists who were present. There was no video evidence tendered to court. The Hotel too denied knowledge of the same.
This was my first time in court but I thank God for answering my prayers of innocence.
