The Office of the NRM National Chairman Manager Hajjati Hadijjah Namyalo, alongside Kampala Minister Hajjat Minsa Kabanda yesteday met, held a fruitful discussions with NRM leaders and vulnerable groups in Kampala at Nakivubo Blue Primary School.

The meeting which included the elderly and persons with disabilities (PWDs) focused on promoting the inclusion of PWDs in government programmes such as PDM, Emyooga, and their formal endorsement of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for the 2026 presidency.

In her speech, Hajjat Namyalo praised the people of Kampala for their honesty and thanked Minister Minsa Kabanda for her efforts in transforming the city. She also provided vulnerable groups with household items, including food packages, to help improve their livelihoods.

“As the Office of the National Chairman-NRM, we have lobbied for wheelchairs to support persons with disabilities. These will be delivered in the coming weeks,” Namyalo said, addressing leaders of the PWDs and the elderly. She added that the lists of beneficiaries had already been submitted to her office.

Namyalo decried the delays in the Parish Development Model (PDM) and explained that the ONC had launched its own empowerment programs to address the immediate needs of the people. She emphasized that her office focuses on grassroots empowerment rather than political maneuvering, despite facing obstacles.

“I know about government programs like PDM and Emyooga, but through the Office of the National Chairman-NRM, I can help if you identify enterprises of interest. Working with our partners, I will mobilize resources to help you generate income. When I return to Kampala Central Division, I will continue empowering the Bazzukulu, older persons, and PWDs,” she assured the audience.

Minister Kabanda on her part expressed gratitude to the people of Kampala for their unwavering support of President Museveni and applauded Hajjat Namyalo for her relentless efforts to ensure the President’s candidacy in 2026.

She encouraged citizens to participate in initiatives like PDM to uplift their lives and assured those yet to receive funds that their support was on the way.

“Dividing ourselves has done us more harm than good. We in the NRM need to unite behind the party and President Museveni’s agenda,” Kabanda urged before praising Namyalo for her dedication to helping disadvantaged groups in Kampala, likening her to President Museveni in her care for the people.

“The name Hajjat Namyalo you will find it in every corner. She is not common on TV or radios, she is ever on the ground dealing with the local bazzukulu no wonder she is populary known as Chief Muzzukulu. I want to thank HE Museveni for spotting people like Namyalo and am glad we work together with her ONC office,” Minister Kabanda noted.

“It’s not that you don’t have, but she has a heart that cares for her people, just like President Museveni does. Thank you, my daughter Hajjat Namyalo,” Kabanda added.

The former Minister Hajat Sarah Kanyike, now a Senior Presidential Advisor for Kampala affairs, also in attendance, praised both Namyalo and Kabanda for empowering women, highlighting the leadership roles of women such as the Speaker of Parliament and the Prime Minister. She commended President Museveni for including vulnerable groups in government programs and maintaining security in Kampala and surrounding areas.

The engagement ended in a jubilant mode with an assortment of goodies that included maize flour, beans, cooking oil among others donated to the leaders who attended the meeting.

As a boost to this, Hajjat Namyalo gave a total of Ugx1m as transport facilitation to these leaders and promised that soon she will be coming back to empower them with tools to help them create jobs and kick poverty out of their homes.
