Maj Gen (Rtd) Gregory Mugisha Muntu has stepped down as the National Coordinator of Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) political party.
He stepped down in order to seek nomination to become the party’s presidential flag bearer ahead of the 2021 general elections.
“The out going National Coordinator Maj. Gen (Rtd) Mugisha Gregory Muntunyera bids farewell to the Interim Party leaders and Staff of ANT as he hands over to Hon. Alaso Alice Asianut today Friday 26 June, 2020 at Party headquarters. Gen Muntu is seeking nomination as the Party Presidential flag bearer,” the party said on Facebook.
Alaso who has been serving as ANT’s Deputy National Coordinator in Charge of Finance and Administration said that Muntu’s decision to step down is in line with the party’s Constitutional requirement.
The party will conduct primaries during its National Delegates Conference in August this year.
