Poor leadership failed Rubanda District performance-MP Musasizi

The Rubanda East Member of Parliament has said the poor performance of Rubanda District in the recently released assessment is as a result of poor leadership.

According to Henry Ariganyira Musasizi, better performance goes hand in hand with better leadership and vice versa.

The recently released 2018/2019 Local Government performance assessment report indicates that Rubanda district was the worst performing district in the whole country. Rubanda was named alongside Kotido Municipality, Bulisa and Kitgum districts.

In the report, released by the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM), the districts of Bukedea, Adjumani and Kumi were the best performers.

While appearing on a popular political talk show at Voice of Kigezi FM on Saturday morning, Musasizi said the Rubanda populace needs to vote out the Rubanda district leadership in the 2021General elections.

“These leaders deserve no votes in the 2021 elections. The report indicates that they are poor leaders,” Musasizi was quoted saying.

Joggo Kenneth Biryabareema, the Rubanda district chairperson refused to speak on the matter last week at the district headquarters, saying he was researching together with his administration to understand why Rubanda had emerged the last under performer in the country.

He had before accused the heads of department in the district of failing to submit the district’s performance to the line ministries for consideration.

“I understand some heads of departments did not submit the reports to the Local Government ministry for consideration but we are studying that,” Joggo, who has since declared intentions to contest as the Rubanda East Member of parliament in the 2021 elections said.
