The family battle between House of Prayer Ministries International (HPMI)’s Pastor Aloysius Bugingo and his wife Teddy and daughter Doreen Gift is far from over.
During a Sunday service, Bugingo told his followers that ever since he kicked off the project to construct God’s House, many people including fellow Pastors have been trying to manipulatively work with his wife and daughter to fail the grand plan.
The Canaan Pentagon Church is expected to cost over Shs70 billion and so through a fundraising campaign launched this year, more than a Shs1 billion has been collected.
He also accused Teddy and Doreen of trying to take control of the Church Property in dubious ways.
“This land does not belong to me, my wife or even my children. This is church land. My wife can go hang,” Bugingo publicly told his followers.
“I will apologise to you Church, I had initially fallen in the same trap in 2010 when I registered the ministry in my name and that of my wife and child like how other city pastors do but I changed and added more people because this is God’s work and not mine as a person. My wife and daughter wanted me remove all the rest except themselves and they even wanted more shares than myself.”
Daughter speaks out:
Doreen however scoffed at her father’s allegations that they want to steal the church land.
During an interview aired on nbs’ uncut show on Monday, Doreen said there’s no way they [mother and her] can take control of something which does not belong to them.
“God should forgive Pastor Bugingo for what he is doing to us. As believers we all contributed to the buying of that land, people from all corners of the world contributed so it neither belongs to me personally, mum or anyone else but to all believers. Besides we are not interested in owning it,” she revealed.
She also advised her father that instead of tarnishing their names, he should accept that he has been cheating on his wife for the last three-four years.
“There has always been a trend that instead of men accepting that they are cheating and have other relationships they end up accusing and lying about their wives so they can be lifted rather than being blamed or corrected for their wrong doing.”
“Sometimes back during a meeting at Salt Media offices, dad openly told employees how he was in love with their colleague [ Susan Makula] and that he was staying with her. He was not ashamed how people would perceive him since he was already a married man.”
Doreen on the other hand assured her dad that he will not get the divorce he wants from her mum.
She also disclosed that Pastor Bugingo is a sole signatory for all the church assets.
“Dad is a liar; he blindfolded his followers that all the church property belongs to them yet in real sense, he owns them.”
