Uganda Police Force has revealed that it has detected a criminal/ terror group with a likely intention of conducting attacks on Ugandans during this festive season.
In a message to all police stations, police units, Regional Police Commanders and District Police Commanders, AIGP Asuman Mugenyi, the Police Director of Operations said the terror group was detected while casing security installations.
“You must therefore be extra vigilant and leave no room which could be exploited by the enemy to attack. Leave no room which can be exploited by the enemy to attack the facilities,” Mugenyi told officers.
Adding, “Raise your level of alertness and vigilance, be extra observant, cautious and observe all security procedures to avoid being taken unaware,”
The director also told Kampala Metropolitan Police and the surrounding areas to take extra cautious measures.
“You are directed to immediately enhance security of the installations and personnel in your Area of Responsibility. The group activities are being monitored and any follow up information will be availed to you accordingly,” he disclosed.
