Police in Rubanda is investigating circumstances under which a 33 years old man was murdered.
Roland Tukakyungura of Mizinga cell, Nyamabare parish Ikumba subcounty Rubanda district was allegedly hit with an empty bottle of beer on the ear and as a result, he bled and later died instantly.
It’s alleged that on Wednesday at around 21:00 hours while they were drinking at Standard hotel in Rubanda town council, the deceased developed a quarrel with Alex Byarugaba, a head teacher of Burolero primary school.
During the process, Byarugaba got a bottle and hit Tukakyunguru on the ear and started bleeding furiously from the same ear.
Eye witnesses Said that after the incident, they both left the bar. The body of the deceased was found lying on a veranda at Kagunga trading centre.
Elly Maate, the Kigezi region Police spokesperson has confirmed the news, and said it’s unfortunate and regrettable.
The Police visited the scene and the body was taken to Kabale regional referral hospital mortuary for postmortem and efforts to hunt for the suspect are underway .
