President Yoweri Museveni has lauded Kitgum Municipality Member of Parliament Beatrice Anywar for embracing the revolutionary message of NRM after many years of constantly bringing ‘confusion’ among her people.
The President made the remarks on Thursday at Boma grounds in Kitgum Municipality where, at the invitation of Anywar, he laid a foundation stone and commissioned the construction of Christ the King Parish Centenary Church in Kitgum where he donated 560 iron sheets. He also laid a foundation stone for St. Janani Luwum Church and donated 560 iron sheets and pledged Shs.120 million for roofing the church. He later pledged Shs.50 million for the construction of the Irene Gleeson Memorial Library and the Youth Training Centre.
Museveni welcomed Anywar who vowed to work with the Movement for the development of Kitgum district and the country at large.
He described Anywar as a reasonable politician whom he had engaged for years but noted that in most of their engagements, Anywar was always bothered about the development of her constituency unlike most opposition politicians who spend most of their time on politicking and peddling lies.
Initially, Anywar belonged to opposition party Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) but now its likely that she is her final stages to switch to the yellow side since lately on several occasions she has been hobnobbing with the president.
