Uganda Cup: SC Villa, Vipers and KCCA progress to round of 32

The round of 64 FUFA Uganda Cup matches were completed on Sunday with two matches.

Sports Club Villa Jogoo gritted their teeth to out muscle Hope Doves 2-0 at the Masaka Recreational Stadium.

George Ssenkaaba and Ambrose Kirya scored the goals.

On Saturday, Vipers defeated Kasese’s Bronken 3-1 with the goals coming from Bashir Asiku, Frank Tumwesigye and Steven Mukwala.

The consolation for the home side came from Xavier Masereka.

Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) football club, the reigning champions in this tournament started their title defence in style with a 4-0 away victory to Mbarara in Kakyeeka stadium.

Striker Patrick Kaddu scored twice for KCCA and he also missed a penalty.

Allan Okello and Paul Mucureezi were also on target for KCCA.

There were some matches that were not played after the expected visiting teams did not honour their respective games.

The FUFA Competitions Department will communicate the fate of these matches.

Meanwhile, the date for the draws of the round of 32 will be confirmed in the near future.
