The department of zakah at Uganda Muslim supreme council has given out shs19.6 million in form of zakah (helping the needy) to over 100 Muslims from across the country to enable them live a better life.
The distributed 19 million was collected from the beginning of the year 2017 and it has been distributed in two phases.
At first zakah was distributed on 16th June these year where over 8540400 shillings was distributed to more than 50 people.
Speaking as the chief-guest during the zakah give out, his eminence the mufti of Uganda sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubajje argued Muslims to en-devour fulfilling zakah as the third pillar of Islam as even swalah doesn’t help without zakah since one will have defied one of the five pillars of Islam.
“When a person minds less on zakah also swalah will not help him and the prophet says you cannot be faithful until when you love your brother the way you love yourself,”
Mufti says these helps needy people to also leave a good life and pray for the reach ones which explains the Islam is equal before everybody.
He also applauded the secretary for zakah sheikh Dr. Ziad swaleh lubanga for being broad enough and for equally distributing the zakah and changing the zakah department.
Dr. ziad swaleh Lubanga said they have got a challenge of of people not minding about zakah and taking it as a priority which he says has left the department back.
He argued Muslims to comeback to Allah and en-devour to fulfill his pillars if they are to continue prospering.
