Electoral Commission receives shs15b, set to conduct LC elections after 15 years

Uganda Electoral Commission (EC) is set to conduct local council elections for the first time in 15 years after receiving shs15.7 billion required for the exercise.

The EC chairperson Justice Simon Mugenyi Byamukama said they have received the money and  by next week the commission will inform the general public when it will conduct the elections.

“We have received the money and by next week, we shall inform the country, when to have these elections,” said Byamukama.
