On Saturday former Presidential candidate Dr. Kizza Besigye once again won over police as he managed to surpass their road blocks to find his way to Semuto, Nakaseke district to attend a mass anti-land grabbing campaign known as ‘My land ,my Life’.
On Friday, Police had warned Besigye and his colleagues not to bother going to Nakaseke district citing that their rallies were illegal.
But the police officers were puzzled to discover that Besigye along with Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago, kawempe North MP Mubarak Munyagwa, Makindye West MP Allan Sewanyana among others had already accessed the district.
Meanwhile police did not accept defeat thus deciding to deploy heavily in Semuto as Besigye sensitized people on their land rights.
Along the way, the security operatives managed to intercept Besigye and colleagues thus putting the campaign on halt.
This is not the first time the four time presidential candidate is playing hide and seek against police. In March Besigye also managed to escape from police to attend a belated celebration of International Women’s Day which had been organized by Forum for Democratic Change-FDC party.
