FDC organizes open campaign for EALA aspirants at party headquarters

Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) today has organized an open campaign for party members who are aspiring for the East African Legislative Council (EALA) seats.

The campaign is taking place at the party Headquarters in Najjanankumbi along Entebbe road and its aimed at aspirants convincing members to vote for them.

Recently, the opposition party nominated nine candidates to contest in the EALA race.

The candidates include;Ayo Innocent ,Ekwau Ibi Florence,Herbert Mayemba, Ingrid K. Turinawe, Joseph Tundyebwa ,Kyambadde Wilberforce, Ojobile Augustine ,Paga Gloria, Patrick Baguma Atenyi.

According to the standing orders, EALA slots are shared on numeral principle with each member state’s dominant party getting more slots than the parties with few MPs.

Uganda has nine slots whereby the incumbent party has six slots, opposition has two and independent has one.
