Move aside Gravity Omutujju. Welcome Fik Fameica.
All Africa Music Awards Best Male Artiste – East Africa Bebe Cool has taken bragging to another level.
The Nsilikamu singer, who recently returned from self-imposed exile in the United States on Tuesday claimed that he is set to put Uganda’s entertainment industry on the next level. Apparently, he has bought the latest equipment that he will use to start up a high-tech audio and video studio in Uganda. The equipment will arrive in the future.
At a hastily arranged presser at Torino Restaurant, Kampala, Bebe Cool revealed that the new high-Tech equipment such as Arri Alexa Camera, Anamorphic Lens among other camera accessories will change Uganda’s visuals for international market.
Bebe Cool brags that with his Arri Alexa camera, Fik Fameica will also look good in videos, even better than American artiste Chris Brown.
According to the artiste, his long stay – read two months – abroad has has enabled him to learn new things about the music business and how improve it. The reason why Uganda’s entertainment industry is stagnant, Bebe Cool says, is because the quality of videos produced is so poor that it cannot compete with what Nigerians out.
“Many of those Nigerian artistes look terribly bad. You have always seen them when they come to Uganda for shows. But it’s these cameras that make them look good,” said Bebe Cool, before alleging that Ugandan artistes have the talent but many don’t have enough money to finance good quality videos.
It is for this reason that he has offered to provide visuals that suit the international market at a discount amount to Ugandan artistes.
A few Ugandan artistes such as Sheeba, Navio, Bebe Cool, Cindy and Ykee Benda have afforded to shoot videos with international video producers like God Father, Clearance Peter, Sesan among others.
“I hope that with these new equipment, I can do something good and big for Uganda’s entertainment industry because am not doing it for money, but for my country,” said Bebe Cool.
