Joyce Bagala has made her mark on NBS management. The former Akaboozi reporter has been fast rising at NBS tv ranks since she arrived at the Kamwokya based television as a reporter for Amasengejje, the Luganda news bulletin, following her unsuccessful political bid for Mityana woman MP.

Last month, Joyce who had briefly held a docket for investigative editor at NBS, was appointed to lead the news team during the suspension of John Baptist Imokola, a veteran television manager.
Imokola who cut his teeth at WBS fell out of favour with management and sent home briefly after the television failed to run a news cast on January 31, 2017, after been told President Museveni would be addressing the nation during the prime hours. Unfortunately, Museveni’s speech was unusually short, and the television had not prepared a news bulletin to run thereafter. The responsibility fell on Imokola’s head, and he had to sit out briefly.
On his return however, Joyce had already impressed her bosses and the lady who was tipped to sit in for Imokola until he returned, was confirmed in the new restructuring this week.

Imokola, will however not leave NBS, instead, he will be head of a new initiative which will be training young journalists who join NBS, and possibly others who might want to learn out television reporting from a practical point of view.
On Wednesday morning, Next Media CEO, Kin Kariisa announced the newest addition to his group of companies, ‘Next Media Academy’ that is aimed at improving skills for in-house talent as well as people who are yearning to practice journalism.
