UCC starts investigations into Salt Media over Bugingo’s loose tongue

The Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) has initiated investigations on Salt Media for airing abusive content that violets established standards.

In a statement issued on Wednesday July 17, 2019, the communication regulatory body said Salt Media owner Pastor Aloysius Bugingo has been using the media outlet to send insults, disrespect his wife Teddy Naluswa.

“The Commission received complaints from concerned citizens about the nature and broadcast content on salt TV. Complainants allege that Salt Media has been airing abusive content that violets established standards, directed towards Teddy Naluswa,” the statement reads in parts.

“The Commission has in accordance with Section 45 of the Uganda Communications Act of 2013, initiated investigations into the complaints/allegations, and directed salt TV management to make written submissions or presentation in defense of and against the complaint/allegations.”

Since May this year, Bugingo has been having family issues with his estranged wife. And just last week, he told his followers that she sexually starved him for 10 years while suffering from fistula.

“I have tried to always keep quiet to respect Teddy but she is playing the sympathy card too much. She says she has been with me for 27 years through thick and thin. But how come she doesn’t talk about her haemorrhage (fistula). My wife bled for 10 years. Every single day, I bought cotton since pads could no longer contain her flow. I didn’t have sex for those 10 years. I didn’t even cheat. How come I didn’t get another woman in those years? Surely people must know that if I were to leave, it would have been then. I have been patient, I have tried all my best to make this thing work. Let her stop claiming she is the one who tried her best,” the House of Prayer Ministries International (HPMI) lead Pastor said.
