By Eric Ntalo

MTN Uganda has entered a partnership with Breathtaking Uganda that will see young Ugandans explore more of their country.

The partnership targeted at mainly the youth, is a co-marketing initiative between the two organizations with the aim of growing domestic tourism awareness and encouraging young Ugandans to explore their country.

In the partnership, Breathtaking Uganda; a local tourism promotion firm, will organize monthly trips to different exciting locations of the country culminating into the big one at the end of the year in which Ugandans will move across the country in a 31-day trip from 1st December to 31st December.

MTN Uganda will engage its millions of subscribers especially under the Pulse segment with a special discount of up to 25% on fully paid trips. This will bring the planned experiences within reach of many Ugandans under this category.
Pulse is MTN Uganda’s youth platform created for the young at heart and mind.

Also worth noting is that MTN’s over 5 million social media base will learn more about their country through regular updates of Breathtaking Uganda’s activities, get discounted offers or win free tickets to the adventure destinations by following the activities on the MTN and Breathtaking Uganda digital platforms that include Youtube, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat and Facebook to mention a few.

Hellen Kirungi, the MTN Pulse Manager said, “This is a partnership that provides a great opportunity to drive the domestic tourism agenda by taking Ugandans to various breathtaking destinations through our digital platforms. This also ties in with our duties as the leader in telecommunications business and gives us the chance to share locally made and generated organic content that is unique and very appealing to our subscribers.”

“We also want to encourage the growth of the tourism business. We are therefore happy to partner with Breathtaking Uganda and we encourage all Ugandans to look out for these exciting excursions and content on all our digital.”

Breathtaking Uganda has a yearlong domestic tourism promotion campaign where Ugandans and even non-Ugandans pay discounted rates for an experience of a lifetime to tour Uganda’s breathtaking destinations.

The campaign also has participants actively engaging the rest of the country through updates on digital platforms. During these trips various exciting activities are engaged in such as – road trips, nature walks, camping, quiz nights, wildlife/game viewing experiences, campfires and barbeques, pool parties, beach parties, gorilla/primates tracking, bird watching, scenery viewing and photography, mountain hiking, silent disco, water rafting, zip lining and boat cruises to mention just a few.

According the Breathtaking Uganda’s CEO Isaiah Jobs Rwanyekiro, there are five more trips before the end of year starting with; Kibale/Semuliki National Park Fort Portal from 26th – 28th July,  Sipi Falls (Mt. Elgon National Park) in Mbale on 30th August to 1st September,  Queen Elizabeth National Park on 27th – 29th September, Kalangala Island Beach festival on 25th to 27th October at Brovad Sands lodge and the grand trip “Around Uganda in 31 breathtaking days” from 1st to 31 December 2019.
Five fully paid for complimentary tickets available for this experience to MTN Pulsers to be won based on mechanics that will be shared later.
“Around Uganda in 31 Days” is not only going to be an opportunity to explore and experience what Uganda has to offer, but it will be an opportunity to share these experiences with the rest of Uganda and the world through social media and the reality TV series that will be aired on various TV channels.”
Special arrangements have been made for people who cannot afford to be away for the full 31-day road trip. There will be options for shorter segments/days so that everyone can have the opportunity of being part of these very pulsating adventures.
