Star times Uganda Premier league Champions Vipers SC have named Kenyan born Micheal Ouma as their new head coach. He replaces the sacked Mexican Javier Martinez Espinoza.

According to a statement on the club’s official website, Ouma replaces Martinez a day after the Mexican was shown the exit at the club despite not losing a league game, lying five points off leaders KCCA.

“The team includes a new face of Kenyan born Micheal Ouma as the head coach assisted by Oloya Moses as goal keeping coach, Edward Ssali as trainer with Ram Nyakana as strength and endurance coach,” part of the statement read

“A fifth member of the technical bench will be named by the club administration sooner than later once all documentation is finalised,” the statement added.

Ouma has been out of active football coaching and little is known about his previous coaching career as he has not yet worked with any Kenyan Premier League team in the past. He has however, worked at lower league Posta Rangers and FC Talanta and defunct clubs like Agro Chemicals and Karuturi Sports all in Kenya.

Sources close to the club indicate that Ouma was essential to Vipers signing forward Noah Wafula at the start of the 2018/2019 season.

Coach Ouma promised more team cohesion and creativity going forward as he spoke to his players today after meeting the squad for the first time.

Ouma and his new technical team  commenced work on Sunday evening with a training session in preparation for Vipers next league game against URA FC at Namboole on the 2nd January 2019.
