In a remarkable event, a 50-year-old woman named Kobusingye Christine recently gave birth to five children at the New Care Specialized Hospital and Fertility Center in Mbarara City. Christine and her husband, Tunanukye, 60 years, have been married for 32 years and have long dreamed of having children. After years of waiting and hoping, they turned to In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) in their quest to start a family.
Having faced the fear of aging without leaving behind a child, the couple made the brave decision to seek help. Their faith paid off when the IVF treatment was successful. Recently, they welcomed an incredible blessing: three baby girls and two baby boys. The babies were born prematurely through a cesarean section and were later transferred to Holly Innocents Hospital for specialized care. Doctors have reported that the babies are receiving excellent medical attention and will soon be discharged.
While they are overjoyed at the arrival of their children, Christine and Tunanukye are also worried about the challenges ahead. The couple hails from Nyaruhanda Village in Kitagwenda District, where they have lived a simple life. Tunanukye is a retired teacher, and Christine has been a housewife throughout their marriage. With the arrival of five children, they now face the daunting task of caring for such a large family without steady income.
In light of their situation, the couple is reaching out to good Samaritans for support. They are grateful for their blessings but recognize the need for assistance in raising their children.
