Big Size the Gagamel Epitome Bebe Cool, and Fangone Forest Head Master, Alien Skin, alongside Uganda’s hard rock kickboxing champion, Gololo Moses, delivered jaw-dropping performances that left the crowd in awe, concluding the World Tourism Day 2024 celebrations in an unforgettable fashion.
From early morning, Kasese was abuzz with activity, with people of all backgrounds uniting to celebrate Uganda’s rich heritage. The day’s events featured a sports gala, processions through Kasese town, and traditional competitions like loop pulling. It was a day full of excitement, showing off the Rwenzori region’s cultural richness and the vibrant energy of its people. Yet, it was clear that all eyes were on the much-anticipated night concert to crown the celebrations.
As night fell, the drizzle that had briefly touched Kasese earlier in the evening only served to heighten the mood, cooling the air and adding a magical feel to the night’s events. The majestic backdrop of the Rwenzori Mountains seemed to amplify the energy of the crowd as they eagerly awaited the star-studded performances.
Alien Skin, a fast-rising star known for his unique blend of Afrobeat and dancehall, was the first to drive the revelers into a crazy mood. Bebe Cool, one of Uganda’s most celebrated artists, followed displaying his mastership in the music game. Bebe Cool’s towering presence and deep, commanding voice instantly captivated the audience. Performing hits like “Love You Every Day” and “Kabulengane,” he had the crowd on their feet, dancing and singing along. His interaction with the audience, where he praised the unity and peace now flourishing in the Rwenzori region, struck a deep chord with many who had lived through the area’s tumultuous past.
Gololo Moses, renowned for his strength in the kickboxing arena, mixed the night with a dynamic display of energy and charisma, embodying the spirit of resilience and endurance. Though not a singer, his presence on stage symbolized the determination and strength of the Ugandan people, particularly in the Rwenzori region. His participation celebrated Uganda’s unity, peace, and the bright future that tourism and cultural events continue to foster.
The concert drew hundreds, many of whom were tourists marveling at the night’s incredible energy. Despite the occasional drizzle, the crowd remained steadfast, enjoying the entertainment against the stunning backdrop of Uganda’s natural wonders.
