The construction works of 800 metres low cost ceiling tarmac road have been launched in Alebtong District.
According to the district Engineer Tom Opio, the construction works on Okodi Acu road in Alebtong Town council are estimated to cost Shs353 million and will be completed in a period of three months.
During the groundbreaking ceremony on Friday, the Alebtong Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Robert Adiama said the works are part of the district’s economic transformational infrastructure strategies aimed at developing the area.
Mr Adiama also called upon the contractors (Dynasty Constructions Limited) to properly execute their work for positive results.
“I would like to thank the government and appreciate the role of President Yoweri Museveni in driving the country towards social economic transformation,” he said.
On his part, the Alebtong Deputy RDC Stephen Odongo disclosed that roads make crucial contribution towards economic growth and development, that’s why as government they are doing everything they can to ensure areas like Alebtong get proper roads.
“The government recognizes that an efficient road network is crucial to success of it’s social and economic initiatives, it’s upon this that I call upon the contractors to execute their work well,” Mr Odongo said.
The contractor-Dynasty Constructions Limited promised quality work saying that they have all the technical expertise in local ceiling and will deliver the project according to the laid down specifications.
The district Chief Administrative Officer, Simon Bimbona also reaffirmed, “Expect quality work from the contractor.”
On the other hand, the Alebtong District LCV Chairperson Dickens Odongo lauded government for sending funds to the district that are being used for the construction of the road.
“Once complete, the road will improve accessibility in Alebtong Town council.”
