The Deputy Resident City Commissioner Fort Portal City North Division Allan Bamuha has argued the people of Tooro to embrace ICT as a way of developing and joining the subregion to the International science grid of development.

Bamuha was on Friday afternoon addressing participants at the ground breaking ceremony of the Tooro ICT Center, a ceremony presided over by HRM Rukirabasaija Agutamba Dr.Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi 1V, the Omukama of Tooro.

He reterated the President’s call to concentrate on development of the four key sectors- agriculture, service, ICT and industry as part of the efforts to foster economic growth and development in the country.

Flanked by DRCC Central Division Fort Portal City Emmanuel Businge and DRDC Kabarole District Paul Ogalo Bwire, Bamuha encouraged all leaders and development minded people of Tooro to fully support the King’s initiative and thanked the Kingdom for playing partial fulfilment of the President’s development plan over ICT through coming up with such a positive initiative in the region.

His Majesty recently launched Tooro Kingdom’s Vision 2045 “A better life and prosperity for the people and Kingdom of Tooro” As part of his strategic actions to empower Youth with practical skills, through his foundation (KING OYO FOUNDATION).

The aim of the center is to provide the Youth with practical and innovative digital skills to help them thrive and be competitive. With Many business sectors being reshaped at an astounding pace, fuelled predominantly by new digital innovations, His Majesty strongly believes that with the Youth Skilling Centers, Tooro Kingdom Youth will improve their livelihoods.
