While addressing the Fort-Portal central division local leaders Emyooga SACCO during their annual general meeting this week,the Deputy Resident City Commissioner Businge Emmanuel called upon the organisation’s leaders to properly manage the seed capital provided by the government for the benefit of all association members.
He further reminded them that that the emyooga program is in line with the Presidents promise to secure the future of Ugandans .
“Emyooga money is not “kasimo” as others try to take but money intended to get us out of poverty,” Mr Businge noted.
At an annual interest rate of 8 % per annum ,people can easily access credit to finance their businesses in order to increase household income .
The DRCC also advised the SACCO leaders to involve the various committees in the day to day running of the organization activities to avoid suspicions.
Fort-Portal Central local leaders SACCO posted annual profits of Shs1.59 million and a loans recovery rate of 87% .
In his closing remarks, Mr Businge informed members that they have an open door policy at office and whoever has issues regarding any government programs is welcome and warned the audience about complacency in following the COVID-19 SOPs.
