The LC 3 chairperson of Rupa Sub County, Moroto Municipality in Karamoja region, Dan Apolo has been shot dead.
Apolo was Ex-ESO boss David Pulkol’s brother.
According to breaking news reaching Watchdog Uganda, Apolo was allegedly shot by Uganda Peoples Defence Forces on Tuesday morning.
“The incident happened after the locals accused the army of the Turkana of Kenya raid their cows. The incident prompted the UPDF to fire bullets to disperse the now angry crowd,” a source told Watchdog Uganda.
The army is yet to respond to the allegation.
Rupa has been a hotbed of insecurity with locals year accusing their leaders of shifting away from their intended role of serving the community and now turned to connive with purported investors to grab land from the community.
In Octber meeting held in Lorukumo village in Rupa sub-county turned rowdy when community accused Apolo, sub-county Chief Mr. Godfrey Lotuk, John Bosco Logwee the sub-county chairman area land committee who are also doubles as members of Rupa community development trust (RUCODET) for grabbing land.
