Authorities in Mubende on Monday arrested 30 street kids in Mubende Town.
The operation which was conducted the GISO Nkangi Mathias with the support of the gender department at Mubende Municipal Council was at Main Street, Lubanga Road, Mubende Highway, Rwabusagara Road and
Kaweri Ward where children have been selling fruits, other recruited into criminal gangs.
Mubende municipal Mayor Eng Ssekiziyivu Innocent said the children are from the districts of Buhweju, Kamwenge, Kakumiro, Kyenjojo, Kyegegwa and others from Kasambya in Mubende.
He challenged the district and town council authorities neighboring Mubende to also conduct these operation to reduce on the movement of Children, saying Mubende no is turning into their destination.
The mayor says they have unclaimed children which is posing a challenge to their efforts, since the district has no remand home for these juveniles.
