President Yoweri Museveni has appointed Beatrice Byenkya as the new Chairperson for Uganda Land Commission (ULC).

Byenkya replaces Baguma Isoke who has served the commission since August 2013.

In a letter dated April 8, 2019 to the Speaker of Parliament, the President also appointed five new members on ULC who include Charles Muhoozi, Asuman Kyafu, Prof Nyeko Pen Mogi, Achan Stella and Rukiika Bujara.

“In excise of powers vested in the President by Article 238 (2) of the 1995 Constitution of the Republic of Uganda, I have appointed the persons listed below as Chairperson and Members of the Uganda Land Coommission, respectively,” President’s letter copied to the Minister of Lands, Housing and Urban Development reads in parts.

“I, hereby, forward their names and curriculum Vitae to you for Parliamentary approval.”
