Police in Kanangu are investigating circumstances under which Private Swalleh Waka Bakali, was burnt to death.
The deceased, 38, was attached to Mburameizi Barracks. He was found burnt and dead in his grass thatched hat at Kiruruma Water Treatment Plant .
According to the Kigezi region Police spokesperson Elly maate, the body taken to the 2nd division headquarters for postmortem.
Maate says they suspect he was burnt on the night of Tuesday, October 16.
“The cause of the fire not known but the colleagues say has been a known drunkard, a smoker and that he usually used a local paraffin lamp for lighting,” Maate told Watchdog.
This case has been registered at Kihihi police station in Kanungu district under file number CRB 535/2018.
