Express FC will hope to open up their new league campaign with a victory when they face URA at Wankulukuku in the second round of the Uganda Premier League.
The six-time league champions, weren’t part of the opening day action due to boardroom drama after their opponents on the day Mbarara City, were ‘disqualified’ and hope to capitalize on the extra days they earned to get maximum points. Coach Kefa Kisaala will rely on Tony Odur, Michael Birungi and Sam Kayiwa to obliterate a URA side that egded newly promoted Paidha Black Angles in their season opener. It remains to be seen if Tabu Vitalis and Shadick Kagimu will recover in time having played for their respective FUFA Drum teams during the first leg finals on Sunday.
Elsewhere, Uganda Cup winners KCCA will look to build on their first league win when they host Kirinya Jinja SS at the StarTimes Stadium. The latter picked a point against Villa on match day one while Maroons in Luzira host defending champions Vipers, who left it late against newly promoted Ndejje University, to win 1-0. Bul FC, having picked up their first away win against Police on match day one, will host Tooro United in the other fixture of the day. New head coach Peter Onen will try to make home support count.
