And as the U-23 national ladies team leaves for China ahead of the U-23 World Cup due to tip off on Wednesday 3, October to Sunday October 7, head Coach Hamza Nyambogo is optimistic about Uganda’s chances.
“We’ve performed well throughout all events we have been involved in. I am certain we are not going to participate but compete,” he said.
Nyambogo, who was speaking during the official team flag off on Monday at National Council of Sports Headquarters at Lugogo on Monday, stressed that it was just a matter of time before Uganda are crowned champions.
Uganda who are placed in group A, alongside Romania, Hungary and hosts China will be represented by shooting guards Jamila Nansikombi and Ritah Imanishimwe while youngster Jane Asinde and Hope Akello, both Power Forwards complete the four- member squad.
