The FUFA Football Development Department has confirmed a Physical Fitness Diploma course will be organised for Uganda Premier League Clubs.
The course will target Physical Fitness Trainers at the clubs in the UPL who will undergo educational sessions throughout the year in 5 training and evaluation modules monitored by the Uganda Cranes Coach.
Foreign and Local Instructors will also be part of the course to take participants through key elements of physical preparations of players inclusive of the use of modern methodologies like the current ICT FieldWiz Solution used in CAF Final stage tournaments.
Part of the communication signed by the FUFA CEO Edgar Watson to the Clubs reads;
‘Observations from the FUFA Development Department indicate that the speed of the game on the field is still low especially among players in the 1st and 2nd Division who are also exhibiting poor levels of fitness yet it is a key component of football. During the course period practical follow-ups at respective participants’ clubs will be done as per schedules released. Being a FUFA Fitness Diploma course; the Club nominated candidates will first undergo a pre-entry test in order to ascertain the 20 persons that will proceed as pioneers of this Diploma course’
Each club will be required to pay (1,000,000/=) for one suitable candidate for the course whose first module starts from 17th to 20th September 2018.
