8 year old pupil knocked dead on his way back home for school fees

Police in Rubanda district  is hunting for an errant driver who knocked an eight years old boy dead and later escaped.

Motor vehicle registration number   UAP 647 H Isuzu Forward truck blue in colour that was being  driven by yet to be identified driver , knocked dead Rogers Asiimwe, who is a pupil of Kiriba primary school and resident of Kiriba A village, Kashasha parish Ikumba sub county Rubanda district.
The incident happened on Thursday morning along Nshanjare  Rubanda road when the kid had been sent back from school for school fees and along the way, the driver avoiding pot  holes found him on the side and knocked him dead on spot.
The Kigezi region Police spokesperson Elly maate confirmed the news.
Maate has told our reporter that Police was notified, visited the scene with the doctor and postmortem was done and body handed over to parents for burial.
The truck was taken to police and inquiries underway as well as hunting for the driver.
This case has been registered at Rubanda police station file number TAR 24/2018.
