Opposition main figure Dr. Kizza Besigye has mourned slain Arua Municipality MP Ibrahim Abiriga.
Abiriga together with his bodyguard were shot dead by unidentified assailants a few meters away from his home in Kawanda.
In his mourning message, Besigye condemned the country’s security for being dysfunctional thus urging that there’s a need for a new start to overcome such murders.
He tweeted, “TRAGIC! Uganda’s insecurity affects upper &bottom rungs of society equally &brutally! Security systems are clearly dysfunctional. A new start necessary. My thoughts &prayers go to Hon Abiriga’s family, relatives &friends. Inna lillahi wa inna illahi raj’un,”
