Over 10,000 women refugees are set to benefit from shs85 million grant which has been up by Century Bottling Company.
This was revealed by the Company’s Managing Director Mr Conrad Van Niekerk during the signing of a Memorandum Of Understanding with Restoration and Hope for Refugees (REHORE) at their head offices in Namanve on Thursday.
Mr. Niekerk said this money is going to be used in educating and relieving refugees out of poverty.
He added that teaching a man is not as useful as teaching a woman since women are the mother’s of the world.
Hawa Mutayanjulwa the community development officer REHORE said that those to benefit shall be the refugees from Bidi bidi Kiryandongo and Nakivale camps who were empowered for improved livelihoods.
She added that they are going to use the money to train women refugees in handcrafts, drama and all kind of work that might bring in a penny to the mothers.
