Uganda Cranes has slipped five places to 78th in the latest FIFA rankings released on Thursday afternoon.
The sleep off is attributed to the cranes poor performance at the 2018 African Nations Championship (CHAN), where Desabrie’s men only picked one point from the tournament that was won by the hosts Morocco.
However, Uganda remains dominant in the Council of East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA), after neighbours Kenya dropped one slot to 106th.
Four of the top five African ranked teams have all qualified for Russia 2018 with Tunisia retaining the top spot, followed by Senegal, DR Congo, Morocco and Egypt.
DR Congo (88th, up 8) and Sudan (118th, up 6) are among the biggest climbers.
The global ranking remained the same with the top five consisting of World Cup holders Germany in top spot, followed by Brazil, Portugal, Argentina and Belgium.
