The Public Relations Officer for Ndejje University Mr. Collins Semanda has confirmed that Ndejje University is set to host this year’s inter university games
Speaking to the press at the Uganda Olympics Committee, Semanda said that Ndejje is grateful for hosting the 17th Association of Uganda University Sports (AUUS) games where students shall show case various talents.
He commended universities that have already confirmed their participation more especially Makerere, MUBS, Nkumba, Ndejje, Kampala University among others .
On this note he advised those that have not confirmed to do so in time to enable them have good preparations.
“Only 18 universities have confirmed participation so far” noted Semanda.
The tournament is slated from 16th to 22 of December 2017 and over 17 games shall be competed for.
These shall involve soccer, handball, volleyball, wood ball, Table Tennis, Basketball and many more. However this time round, beach handball in a new game that has been introduced in the varsity games.
Semanda added that this time he expects a tough competition in each discipline since most universities have been participating in local competitions whenever available, an incidence that has given a chance to most of them to improve.
it should be noted that the rules guiding the competitions at the AUUS level differ from that of the East African University Games where each medal collected lifts you to a better position.
