Business man Tom Kaya was on Thursday arrested from his home in Mengo by the Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI) for allegedly possessing fire arms illegally.

The operation in Mengo got the blind eye of Kaya with nine guns and military attire.

Richard Karemire, the UPDF spokesperson confirmed the development and said that a pair of military uniform and ammunition were found after checking Kaya’s two homes both in Mengo and Nakaseke.

Within a couple of two months, this stands as a second time that Kaya is arrested over cases related to fraud and illegal possession of fire arms. In October, Kaya was arrested and detained at Kabalagala Police post after fellow businessman Sam Buchanan reported him for drawing seven guns at him in the presence of his son Denis Buchanan.

Kaya is currently detained at Mbuya police station and is expected in court very soon.

According to Buchanan, when asked about what he thinks, he said that government must do what is right and that on several occasions  many people have been coming out complaining about the incarcerated businessman.
