Police seal off Redpepper offices

Counter Terrorism Police has sealed off the head office of Namanve based Redpepper publication and ordered staff to move out as security operatives proceed with their search.

The Company Chief Marketing officer Arinaitwe Rugyendo confirmed the development on twitter, saying ” The @RedPepperUG is currently under siege by the Counter Terrorism unit of the @PoliceUg & @metpoliceug.

However, the reason of the search is not yet clearly established.

According to the search warrant given to AIP Walya Henry Peter, laptops, desktops, CPUs, computer accessories and other documents related to Redpepper news publication Vol. 17 no 152 of Monday 20 November, 2017 are some of the items to be put in check.
