George Ssenkaaba scored the solitary strike for Sports Club Villa Jogoo in the 1-0 victory against visiting Bright Stars during match day 11 of the Azam Uganda Premier League on Saturday.
The winning goal came on 69 minutes after the opening 45 minutes of the game had failed to produce any goal dividend.
Jogoo right back Joseph Nsubuga was cautioned by the day’s referee Muzamil Tulu in the 26th minute.
Bright Stars had four players booked for unsporting conduct.
Seif Batte, Jimmy Kakooza, Moses Okot and former Jogoo Andrew Kaggwa were all cautioned.
There is an injury concern for left back John Adriko who limped out in the first half.
The Jogoos were remain camped in Masaka ahead of Tuesday’s match with Onduparaka.
The last time Onduparaka visited the Jogoos, the Catarpillars suffered a baptism of fire, falling 4-0.
SC Villa is third on the 16 team log with 19 points off 10 matches, same number of points as KCCA and Onduparaka.
Police leads the standings with 20 points.
