Man fakes kidnap to exhort Shs4m from parents

Police in Kabale is holding a man who faked his kidnap and demanded shs4 million from his parents before he could be released.

Victor Twinamatsiko 26 years of Katoma cell Mwendo parish Kitumba s/c Kabale district  faked a personal kidnap for a ransom of shs4 milllion.

He was hiding at one Pratazio Twinomujuni’s place at Ryeza cell Bubare parish Muko s/c Rubanda district claiming he was in Kampala under custody of the kidnappers demanding money and that if not paid they would harm him.

His parents reported the case to police. Police initiated inquiries and started tracking from the date he claimed was kidnapped on 30 October, 2017 till 12 November,2017 When they were arrested from their hideout.

Twinamatsiko and his purported kidnapper both confessed to have committed the crime.
