NRM Central Executive Committee (CEC) has on Tuesday resolved to fully support the amendment of article 102b which calls for the removal of age limit cap from the national constitution.

The resolution was reached during a meeting at State House Entebbe as confirmed by Acting Secretary General, Richard Todwong.

“To fully support the Bill for the Act entitled Constitutional (Amendment) No 2 Act 2017, moved by Hon Raphael Magezi.” Stated Todwong in a statement.

The committee further resolved to popularize the decision to all structures and membership of NRM and the entire country , guiding and mobilizing them accordingly.

The contentious bill was recently moved by Igara West MP Raphael Magyezi and ever since then it has received wide criticism from all corners of Uganda.

On Monday, each MP received shs29 million to be used during their consultative meetings regarding the bill.

Parliament Director of Communications Chris Obore revealed that the money is  intended to help MPs hire public address systems and meeting of venues, among other items.
