The Inspector General of Government (IGG) Irene Mulyagonja has promised youths from Jobless Brotherhood group that her office is going to investigate whether some NRM MPs were bribed with huge sums of money to push for age limit removal.
This comes after the youths stormed the IGG office on Monday morning with a petition in which they claim that some NRM MPs had been paid hundreds of millions of shillings to support the amendment of Article 102(b) of the constitution.
In the petition, the youth claim that the MPs pocketed shs800 million each to fulfill their mission.
They pointed out legislators like Ibrahim Abiriga (Arua Municipality), Evelyn Anite (Koboko Municipality), Simeo Nsubuga (Kasanda South) , Rosemary Seninde (Wakiso) and Peter Ogwang (Usuk County) among others.
The IGG revealed that she was going to establish a team to initiate investigations into the said MPs, by way of looking into their bank accounts and earnings.
