Kampala Central Member of Parliament Muhammad Nsereko has lashed out on NRM MPs pushing for the removal of age limit saying that as opponents they will not be intimidated by partisan people.

Nsereko who has appeared before the Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) today at Kibuli for questioning regarding offensive communication and inciting of violence charges, wondered why police is much concerned with what they say about the age limit.

He said their freedom of expression is enshrined in the constitution thus no one has a right to bar them from airing out their views.

“We won’t be intimidated by partisan people. Our freedom of expression is enshrined in the constitution. “I don’t know why Police are much concerned with what we say. But we are standing our ground no matter what. Our colleagues who have everything including the support of the army are scared, what is making them panic?,” Nsereko inquired.

Last week, during a press conference, the MPs in question vowed to fight tooth and nail to bar any move aiming at lifting the age limit.

“There’s no way this age limit bill will come to the floor of Parliament, we will grab and tear it. We shall disrupt Parliament. Those that are mooting for age limit bill don’t wish you (Museveni) well. How will you tell your children to stand for the truth? What you (Museveni) should be doing is introducing a bill for your retirement package,”revealed Nsereko.
