The parliament appointments committee has approved Inspector General of Police Gen. Kale Kayihura’s three year contract extension.
Today, morning Kayihura appeared before the committee chaired by the speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga for approval. Other members of the committee include: Deputy Speaker, Jacob Oulanyah, and the Leader of the Opposition in Parliament Winfred Kiiza among others.
Recently president Yoweri Museveni extended the police boss’ tenure and apparently he is the longest serving police chief after taking over from Gen. Katumba Wamala in 2005.
